This Breakfast Pizza is very hearty, it also requires a bit of prep time. In order to make it in a timely manner, you have to be able to multitask (or have help). You will essentially be making a huge breakfast of hash browns, eggs, gravy and sausage, and putting it on your own homemade pizza crust. This crust is very good and simple to make, only takes about 20 minutes. The crust will stand up well if you have leftovers and refrigerate it, then reheat later. It doesn’t get soggy or fall apart which is why I love it. This recipe will make one extra large pizza.
2 medium potatoes (washed, shredded with skin on, seasoned lightly with garlic salt and course ground pepper and fried until crispy)
3 large eggs (scrambled, cooked and seasoned lightly with sea salt and ground pepper)
3 thin slices of a large Vidalia Onion (or enough to suit your taste)
1 12oz package of Pork & Bacon Sausage, (cooked and drained)
3 ½ cups of southern/peppered or country gravy, (cooked)
4 cups of shredded cheese (mixture of pizza blend, sharp cheddar and mozzarella)
1/8 cup of half cornmeal, half flour blend
1 Pizza Crust
1 cup of warm water (110 degrees)
1 (1/4 ounce) package of quick rise yeast
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cups unbleached flour
1 tsp table salt

Turn oven to 450 degrees. Mix yeast, sugar and water and set aside for 10 minutes until it gets frothy, add olive oil. Mix in flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stir until combined, set aside and let it rest for 5 minutes. If you overwork the dough it will get tough, do not knead it.

Sprinkle pizza pan with cornmeal and flour mixture.

Prepare hash browns, scrambled eggs and sausage, set aside.
Slice onions and set aside.

*Note: it is important to season the hash browns and eggs so all the flavors don’t completely combine, you want to taste the different items in it as well as have the texture differences.

Lay a thin coat of flour on your prep surface and press out the pizza dough until it is the size and thickness you want. Put the dough on the pizza pan and put half of the gravy on the dough. Layer hashbrowns, onions, eggs and sausage, then put the other half of the gravy on top. Mix up your cheeses and sprinkle them on top of the pizza until its covered.
Bake the pizza for 10 to 15 minutes or until it is browned on top (use the top rack in the oven so the top gets browned and the bottom doesn’t burn).
